secretagentmole 1,701
My tip, find a dead tree, then use the branches as targets, if you are aiming close and at a high angle you will need more hold under than you will for a shot that is further away and at a less acute angle! secretagentmole 1,701
She is still shooting Bill, just that now she does not have a lot of time to! Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Very good write up that Moley . Very nice pictures to. What model is the gas ram buddy? Si. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The gas ram is, ready for it, ready to run and hide, ready to scream "Oh No, Not Again?", a Hatsan 60S TG GR! Yes I have the Hatsan rammer. Decent little .22 it is and all! It is a low volume conversion by Edgar Brothers and Stutleys. Such a low volume that the conversion is noted in broad felt tip pen on the box and instruction manual... Fires like a rim fire though, straight kick back, lovely gun... Mawders 595
I think we could do with a good write up on how to adjust for shooting up. Maybe mole or someone could do a new post to get stickied to help us out! Or our main man Zini could do us a good YouTube video putting targets up in a tree and showing us scope cam footage of where to aim. Would love to see something like that. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I practised hold over and under on a dead tree. Should be able to find one in your woodland. Find a branch and aim for it, when you are hitting it, you have got the idea. Very difficult to explain, as it will vary depending on how damned close you are to the thing you are aiming at. But if you are at a very acute (ie you are 10 yards away having to life the barrel of the run up near vertically) angle you require more hold under than if you are raising the gun to say a 60 degree angle (ie you are 30 yards away), if further away you may actually require a little hold over! Pigeon shooting is darned addictive! Quote Link to post
milegajo 595
For those like me who like to visually analyse the theory, I think chairgun software allows you to input the angles. In the field, I've been lazing the distance guesstimating the angle and inputting it to my strelok app. Then following moles advice to confirm. I agree mole, it is addictive! Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Cheers both guess I'll have a crack next time I'm out when there is nothing about. Quote Link to post
