Gaz_1989 9,539
Not sure who's interested in reading this but this little bitch has been on quite a journey in her 5 years. She started off as a ratting terrier and bushing to lurchers for a bloke who worked on a farm. He had 2 lurchers, a whippet, a terrier bitch and her 2 pups (trixy and her sister). The sister got ran over by a tractor at 2 years old and killed. He kept trixy for another year or so before deciding to get rid. A friend of a friend told me about her and at the time I had just got a lurcher pup so thought she would be good company and hopefully calm him down a bit. She was an awesome bushing dog from day one, she would catch rabbits and pheasants in the hedges, was great in the house or outside and brilliant with my daughter. Her only downfall for me was her love of going to ground and getting herself smashed up. I decided to offer her up on here after about 12 months and thinking long and hard as a digging dog under the strict agreement that if she jacked I would have her back. A bloke down south wanted her, really decent chap off here, I drove 150 miles to meet him with her and he rang me a few weeks later to say she wouldn't enter a pipe or earth. After about 10 weeks I drove the full 220 plus miles to get her back and the first time out with her she was straight to ground. So i guess she just likes to watch me digging! 3 months later I split up with my missus and moved out. Taking the lurcher with me and leaving the terrier behind as my daughter loved her and my ex begged to keep her. 6 months later - 7th April 2012 I went round there to collect my daughter as usual and went into the kitchen to get a drink. Now I hadn't seen the Trixy for 6 months as I aren't really on speaking terms with the ex and she had said the bitch was doing okay. Anyway, long story short she was living in a right old mess. Hadnt been walked for 6 months and I dont know what she had been feeding her or what she hadnt more to the point. So I took her with me. Took 3 baths to get her clean. Below are photos... 1) When I got her 2 years ago 2) When I sent her down south 3) How she looked the day she came back from my Ex. 4, 5, 6) Tonight 9 days after getting her back on a walk out. Thanks for reading. Gaz. Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers mate. Just finished knocking her run up today so she's got about 12' x 6' with a kennel in a shed for the day time and then she comes in at night and much to my missus disagreeing spends most of it on the sofa. Haha. Hoping to do some ratting with her this year and obviously she will be out mooching regularly. I'm sure I've got plenty of stress to come when she goes to ground but it all adds to the fun Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Tell me about it dean. I was livid when I found her in that state. She's back on her feet now though. Nailed a pheasant in the hedges this morning and flushed 3 rabbits which she tried to catch. Lol. Take care mate. Quote Link to post
