gnipper 6,568
I've not seen it but I thought I was gonna get one with my first round because the linnet and canary had a bash, even one of my mules had a dabble on her

francolin 449
got 2 nests with eggs, will post if any good end of week, spot on fireman about weather got em wanting to nest then had a very cold spell with hard frost,a blackbird was sitting eggs in a fir back of mine and chicks have hatched, she sat through some real bad frosts ,i thought they would fail to be honest. fireman 11,016
Thought the same Francolin about the eggs i've had in nests outside,i didn't think any would hatch due to the frosts and we even had a frost this morning and i have to say i went straight out and checked on the redpoll fledglings i got but needn't have worried they were fine. The redpoll hen has 4 more eggs shes gone down on so these little birds seem to be doing alright even if it is a tad cold still at night.
gnipper 6,568
I think my mules should be hatching tomorrow, the hen was having a look under herself before so fingers crossed. I've only binned 4 eggs so far but I knew they would be clear, that hen is back in with the goldie and has built up again today. He seems a bit keener now so I hope he fills em this time. Bring on the colour food and song training

fireman 11,016
I've had some mules fledge but god knows what the sire is as they look very much like the redpoll chicks that fledged the week before but the mules are bigger, will have to wait till the colour on them sorts itself out as they could be any of 3 types of native sire.My goldies are still not doing anything but had some grand new that a fine fella is letting me have his siskin cock so my hen who's calling for a mate will be as happy as i am.Got 2 canary hens down mule eggs, redpolls on 4 eggs, lutino greenie on 1 egg(might put it under a mule hen thats nested and set the greenie off again for a fuller nest and a pair of irish on 3 eggs so getting busier here.
