James Brooke 0
hi im going to buy my self a rifle , im just starting out and am looking for a PCP but only wanting to spend no more than £200 on my 1st gun and has to be within 30 miles of my area .... any ideas would be greatfull Quote Link to post
Mrs Mole 74
First where home?? Secondly for £200.00 you aren't going to get a pcp, well at least a good one, might be best starting out with a good springer and saving up.. Quote Link to post
James Brooke 0
what do you think of the bsa lightning xl tactical ? thats a spring isnt it ?? and home is west yorkshire sorry lol Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Redbeck air rifles, Wakefield, get over there with your money and have a good look. They have some very well priced air rifles, both new and used! I would be wary of a BSA Lightning, there have been quite a few problems reported with under powered guns, over powered guns, springs breaking, not without their problems! Ring Redbeck, have a word, see what they have got in! Quote Link to post
killa-combo 142
Try for a secondhand air arms s200 Quote Link to post

19powell90 89
co2 NOPE s200 are your best bet pal its only a ton extra and well worth it mate Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Problem with PCP charging it, you need a cylinder or a pump. Secondhand you can get a pump from round £60, roughly double for a decent cylinder set up (300 bar 3 litre with gauge and filling line)! Best to get a spring powered rifle or save longer! Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
mate ive got a lightning xl had it 2 months from brand new. its doing 9.7 ft lbs and everything has came loose. i wouldnt recomend it.. if you want a decent light-ish springer go for bsa supersport or a hw99s. should get one second hand with a half decent scope for your 200quid Quote Link to post
James Brooke 0
so why is co2 a no no just for a starter ?? and iv seen a pretty nice gun a wedley blackhawk xs what does evryone think... and ive read from so many people that getting a springer with a scope is abit shit because of thre kick you have to keep messing eith the scope n stuff? James Brooke 0
and is it true BSA have been bought out by GAMO Quote Link to post
Mrs Mole 74
and is it true BSA have been bought out by GAMO Yes Bsa are owned by Gamo: pcps are good, made in birmingham, the springers how ever suffer from poor build quality and are made in spain, though manufacture is returning to uk soon. secretagentmole 1,701
I have a scope on my gas ram, which is worse than a springer. Scopes can cope with spring powered rifles easily. A gun to look at, scope and gun, Stoeger X20 suppressor, gathering good reviews! Quiet, silencer built on, accurate, IR scope on top as well. Worth a look! Quote Link to post
