Redbeck air rifles, Wakefield, get over there with your money and have a good look. They have some very well priced air rifles, both new and used! I would be wary of a BSA Lightning, there have been quite a few problems reported with under powered guns, over powered guns, springs breaking, not without their problems! Ring Redbeck, have a word, see what they have got in!

and is it true BSA have been bought out by GAMO

Yes Bsa are owned by Gamo: pcps are good, made in birmingham, the springers how ever suffer from poor build quality and are made in spain, though manufacture is returning to uk soon.

I have a scope on my gas ram, which is worse than a springer. Scopes can cope with spring powered rifles easily. A gun to look at, scope and gun, Stoeger X20 suppressor, gathering good reviews! Quiet, silencer built on, accurate, IR scope on top as well. Worth a look!
