which scope

Recommended Posts

I have just replaced my MTC Viper 3-12x44 for a Hawke Panorama 4-12x40. My scores (HFT) have improved averaging mid 50's. The reticle is very fine on the Hawke and does not obscure the target whatsoever but gives a wonderful wide view. Zeroed at 30 yrds I can hold true from 20-35 yrds and the half mil-dots work well for me at other distances. I found the Viper very busy reticle wise and quite heavy on top of an already heavy rifle (Hammerli). Optics wise there was no difference between the two.

I have heard that the new Hawke Varmint SF is very very good scope and one of the best that Hawke now do.

I haven't seen one yet myself only in the magazines.

It goes for about £107 i believe.
