Just when this country and the world doesn't need it . with all our military resources stretched to the limit and the talk of the falklands too how will this country cope?

 

Perhaps a draft would be on the cards if worst comes to the worst

Lot of sabre rattling been going on recently. Iran, Falklands, North Korea. Then there's all the civil wars that have been going on in the Arab countries.

 

On the subject of Iran, the one country that used to keep a balance of power in the region was Iraq....Think we did the Iranians a big favour there.

its the dawn of a new order in the world things are set to change big time, britian or america can not afford a conflict with iran but will have no option but to get drawn in, oil and the control of supply and flow of it dictate world politics.

Yep I think those countries in the cold can smell weakness and are starting to push the boundaries.

 

They know Europe can't afford it and that Obama is as weak as a Kitten.

If it's not one thing its another ffs! This year has got to be the make or break for this country or we'll be even worse off. Another conflict is not what we need.

we obviously had a national draft in the great world wars, I can't see how this country would cope again without another one? I'm all for protecting our own shores but fighting a war that don't involve us is sensless......

Right or wrong our politicians fear that we will become a less powerful country with less political clout on the world stage if we shrink back from these conflicts.

 

By the way did you know that we are the third highest spender on the military in the world...even above Russia!

its about time we considered britans position in the world, we have enough domestic problems that need sorting, the eurozone is due to colapse, imegration and the use of the human rights act needs addressing. we are a warehouse now with very little manufacturing and relient on food imports to feed ourselfs. britian needs to get back to a population level where it can at least feed itself without this we are always vulnerable.
