Hywel 53
Unless things have changed from the perspective of FAO visits in the past few years, mine was keen on the arrangements for gun storage i.e. type of cabinet to be used, location etc..... 1 Quote Link to post
TWOTWOTHREE 152
Hi It's no drama, just be yourself keep chilled and answer any questions they put your way,all my interviews over the years have gone fine, both sgc and fac, it's been a qiuck chat about safety and look at the cabinet and away he goes, Oh and once he checked the serial numbers corresponded with the guns on the cert but that was fac not shotty, obviously that was a renewal. But both initial interviews lasted twenty mins max.Good luck keep us posted on your interview Atb 223 Quote Link to post
Chid 6,865
My cabinet was fitted before the feo came out , did check it was bolted in with all 4 bolts and that she couldn't pull it off the wall . Over here we don't have sgc everything as to be on fac even air rifles Quote Link to post

jackinbox99 41
Varies considerably depending on your local Firearms officer. Ive dealt with 3 different ones now. First two never once asked about a cabinet or even wanted to check to see if I had one. They came in, had a brief chat with me, usually asking what I used the guns for and checked over my name, age, what i did for a living, who had access to the house, that kinda thing. Usually there for no more than 5 or 10minutes atm. My current Firearms Officer has been by far the most thorough. He wanted to see the cabinet, check it was securely fitted. He then checked each gun`s serial number to make sure they matched. I could see him checking out the house security as we moved about the house. He also wanted details of who else lived in the house including their name, dob, job, previous address the whole lot. It wasnt even a renewal, id only just moved to a new area. The one thing they all have in common through from the ones ive dealt with is that they are all very friendly and down to earth. They are more than helpful. My new one was more than happy to give me the low-down on local shooting grounds etc.. as id only just moved to the area etc. I find its more like chatting to another shooting enthusiast rather than any sort of test or job interview. Just be yourself! 1 Quote Link to post
