spartan_ferret 6
I know ferrets can pick up ticks sometimes, mine have had them now and then. When I firsted started out I smeared them with vaseline but now I use spot-on or frontline (or whatever its called) but I'm thinking about getting one of those tick puller bars. But anyway my qestion is.... has anyone got a tick on themsevles? or had or know someone who has got lymes disease? thats what i'm thinking about when sticking my hand in a hole, thinking that it might come back out with a tick buried in it. Would it happen? can it Happen? has it happend? Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Pretty rare I`ve never known, or even heard of someone, secondhand that has caught it. I reckon yer safe, If you get a tick, you can get tested for Lymes, The important thing if you get it , is to treat it at it`s first showing, as it will vanish, then come back after a time as an uncurable version of lymes, Quote Link to post
the_stig 6,614
i know a keeper who had some on his leg a few year back after a days beating --- cant remember the outcome apart from a visit to the docs and a course of anti biotics ... Quote Link to post
spartan_ferret 6
I thought it was a rare case, but it's something to be aware off. another qestion is...Do all ticks carry lymes or just a small amount? and can it affect a Pug? Quote Link to post
