IanB 0
Anyone had problems with warne mounts the fixed style giving misalignment problems? Basically fitted a scope using these mounts and could not get it zeroed correctly, the scope was still a couple of inches out right at its full windage adjustment... Not had chance to investigate further as I'm away for awhile, I'll try remounting everything again when I get time.. Quote Link to post
Caprelous 217
You havent got them on a Saer Rifle by any chance have you Ian? The rings on a Saur are different sizes and need to be higher on the rear ring and this applies to some other rifles as well in relation to elevation but in your post you refer to windage on the right something i havent come across unless you havent located the dove tail and stud lock correctly. Thats what I'm thinking Stuart, I rushed a little putting them on, then the snow came down and I didn't have much chance to zero them, I'll check them again when I'm back in a couple of weeks.. Caprelous 217
When you set your scope up to you count the graduations on movement either way say 100 clicks from nothing on both elevation and windage then half them on each calibration then set them in the ring and bore sight it? before clamping them down? if you have adjustable mounts it makes sighting in a doddle even with 1st generation scopes like I have. Whats your scope? Stu Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Its a Zeiss Duralyt 3-12x50 Illuminated, Stuart, just bought it for the .22 Hornet... Nice scope actually nice fine cross hairs and good light gathering and definition. They windage/elevation adjustments come in the central position when new...I'm sure its the rear lock screw probably causing the problem, I'll check it out when I'm back..fingers crossed.. matt_hooks 188
Are both the rings the same way round? You could try taking one off, turning it through 180 degrees and putting it all back together again. Some mounts don't line up perfectly when reversed. Quote Link to post

SNAP SHOT 194
also check rings are same as some are incremental to a certain moa... just worth checking also, also if you change front and back mounts too you might find a difference, trial and error, good luck. Snap. Quote Link to post
Caprelous 217
Have you had any joy resolving the problem Ian? Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Just home the last hour Stuart I'll have a look at it the next few days and let you know how I get on... Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,165
I had the same problem. Took me ages to sort it out. Reversing the mounts, front to back etc. Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Had chance to look at this the other day, to be honest when I put it together it was a bit of a rush, as I didn't have much time.. I removed the mounts and took a look at the rear mount with the stop pin in, looks like it was touching the cz dovetail notch as its ramped...so removed it, remounted it and checked the zero, still out and to start with didn't think I could get any further left on the windage, so rotated it to the limits either side to see if anything was sticking.. I think I got further adjustment left on it, might of been a bit tight...its zeroed in now, but its still quite far on the windage adjustment.. Quote Link to post

What I do when setting up my scope both on elevation and windage i count the increment from zero to infinity and half the count on both scales and click them back in This gives me even adjustment on either scale. I then set them in the rings finger tight position each ring in the position on the rifle in the stop lugs then take out the rings and tighten up the base ring lightly put the scope back on secure the rings and place a black dot on a wall 25ds away and bore sight the rifle to the black dot , look through the scope and adjust the base mounts to counter in line with the bore against the dot and cross hairs tighten dow fully and make any minor adjustments after with the reticule turrets.
