GruffaloGriff 1,859
Hi my mate has an old mk1 thoeben rapid 7 he is offering to sell me. I am undecided whether to take him up on the offer as the cartitges seem to jamb. Will load a few rounds ok then seems to stick, you push the bolt forward thinking there is a pellet in the breach but end up firing a blank. Have cleaned oiled everthing and even tried 2 new mags but same thing happens once or twice each fill of a mag. Tried different pellets too. Anyone else had this with a mk1? Any suggestions? Thanks Quote Link to post

Buster321c 1,010
my thoughts exactly . Is the spring in the mag ok ? It may be too weak , some have a couple of holes in so you can set the tension . Strip the mag and see whats up with it . Quote Link to post

paulus 26
just a thought are you turning the front of the mag to engaged the spring before loading the pellets Quote Link to post
GruffaloGriff 1,859
Thanks guys, thats all good tips. I suspect the mag hence the 2 new ones. Tried stripping down as i agree the spring does seem weak to not move on the pellet, so that was what i was looking at but can't see anything wrong. Unlikely to be 3 duff mags? Cheers UKhunter, I will check out the rapid7 club site. Yes paulus I am rotating it to engage the spring. Most of them engage ok, often the 3rd one that sticks but sometime others. If i slide the mag out slightly it jumps forward to the next pellet and i am back in buisness. Just the unpredictibility of whether there is a pellet in the breach or not that is putting me off. Bit of a bummer if i have a bead on mr bunny and a get a piff without the thump to go with it! Happy for any more input/ suggestions. Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
You say that if you slide the mag out it will index round to the next pellet ? Is it a case of the barrel is too tight against the mag I wonder ? You can set this by undoing the pinch bolt on the barrel , not sure if you have a grub screw under the scope mount aswell and gently slide the barrel out a tiny bit . Place your mag in , with a piece of paper behind it and push the barrel gently back . Do not rotate the barrel , as the port may not line up again if you do . That should ensure all your mags fit well and there's no tension on the back of the mags , where the spring sits . When you've done it , put the mag in and a bit of tissue over it and fire to make sure the outer probe still seals on the mag . Just a thought , Bust Quote Link to post

May be the week end before i get a chanse to take a real look so keep thi ideas rolling in.Cheers Edited February 7, 2012 by GruffaloGriff Quote Link to post
