Tom n Sky 16
Im struggling to find quail feed locally, i live in cumbria. Does anybody know a good website to buy from or anywhere in cumbria. Its the protein content that seems to be the issue, people seem to stock a lower protein chicken feed that's not suitable for the quail. Thanks, Tom
millytheterrier 12
I use to make my own feed up for quails, I had millet, chick crumbs, dried mealworms& wildbird seed. thats a good mix for quail! or if your looking to fatten them up for the table, feed them turkey chick crumbs. you will see the difference in a couple of weeks or more. they double in size well quick. Millet 4,497
Ive been keeping and breeding quail now continuously for a good while now and the lower protien chicken food is spot on for them...i use farmgate layer's and chick crumb..with the odd bit of garvo mixed corn several times a week aswell as the odd bit of lettuce.. francolin 449
dont keep em ,but did at one time hatching weekly, chick crumb,or for fast results as already said turkey starter,or growers meal.turkey starter is higher in protein, and fiber content.

Tom n Sky 16
Thats ok if they do well on the chicken feed then. Just whatever i have read stated it must be 28% protein for starter then 20% for layers. This makes life a bit easier ! Cheers
