Had a meet up With Trigger2 and Bird this morning for a nice steady days mooching with the ferrets on the hill tops of shropshire.

Nice Egg butty courtesy Of Trigger at the roadside cafe and off we went.

We had Bird's dog Bryn and my dog Molly and a couple of Ferts.

So got up on top of the hills after a steady walk, leaving the dogs to mooch up and find a mark.. At this point I must say what a bloody good marking, hunting up,finding the bunnies the dog Bryn is ! He was spectaular at marking and was 100% correct everytime. There was so many old warrens and diggings and scents going through the gauze bushes it was not easy getting a good mark...But when he did there was no doubt he was marking and he was spot on everytime..My dog was put to shame in that department and went of sulking about trying to find her own entertainment..lol. she did managed couple of good marks but she was no where near as on the ball as old Bryn.

We had a couple of really good text book mark ups from Bryn..netted up dropped Fert in and bang..no messing..We never had to Dig out at any point..we came close but managed to entice the ferret out with a gutted rabbit over the hole..( lucky really because the locator was tipping off the scale..)

We even stopped for a munch on a nice pork pie and a chocky biscuit,,Courtesy of Bird..What more can you ask...?

we missed a couple of bunnies and eneded the day with 9 in the bag..no stress...very pleasant way to spend a day..the dogs loved it..and I enjoyed it.

I must get the missis to bake a cake or something next time..I was the only one empty handed...LOL..

Cheers lads.

It was great day, weather was just right. Thanks jon (trigger2) for the bacon+egg buttys they were spot on, the place we went was all open ground, (but) it lots of bushes on top. So it would quite hard to get a proper mark as the rabbits, had been just moving about (above) as we got there. Bryn was marking where they had been, but he was class as still stuck at it and done his dig+ pull the grass to say there is 1-2 still at home, and he was always right  . He marked 13 rabbits. and we got 9, but we give him+molly a run to reward them. But as is the feckin case Bryn didnt mark where wanted to give them a run nice and flat, he marked by the side of the hill's ,so the rabbis ran down into bushes, still they had bit of exercise  I dont go ferrting much my self, but i knew Bryn is hell of a marking dog as when i take him mooching with Tod, as if the quarry got a pulse he will find it, and as ive always said the way he goes (into) cover like a terrier or springer is brill ,the lads said you dont see many lurchers do that.! Bryn is a great rabbit dog day+night, he would be a hard act to follow  , vin dog molly done well with marking , but she dont work with you, she had been knocked about before vin had her ,and that could have somthing to do with way the dog acts. Thanks jon for the invite, you are a sound lad  Ray
