sako 23
Yip, I've got the z6i 5-30x50. I actually went to the shop to buy the ziess but to my eyes prefered the swarovski and it was lighter. I liked it so much using it at dusk and on the lamp I went and bought a z6 3-18x50 for another rifle for hunting I love them... I know of others who done the same by comparing side by side and prefer the zeiss, they are both great scopes just see what suits 'you'. You won't be dissapointed with either, but I don't know how much more light the bigger objectives on the ziess would let in, in comparrisson. If you dial in shot's I believe the ziess is a better scope for that, I don't dial so it wasn't an issue. Quote Link to post

matt_hooks 188
Wow, trying to imagine a 72mm front end, must be like having a dinner plate on the front of the rifle! Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
go for the 56 front lens zeiss the 72 you need very high mounts so it clears the barrel. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
You have no need for the 72, the zesis 56mm obj is plenty, and in my opinion fat better built, and i find as do all my friends its optically slightly ahead of the swar, And for the record i don't own either glass, but friends i shoot with have both...... So for me Zesis... Snap. Quote Link to post
04rafz 0
the scope will be used for long range mountain hunting, shooting ibex and mouflon...would a x50 or x56 cope with this ? Quote Link to post
firthy 54
i've got a swarovski 6-25-50 and i think its an amazing scope. im sure it would be more than good enough for what you need it for. unless your going to be shooting in low light then something a little higher than the 50 like 56 would be better. but even in when its gradually getting darker i can still see for a long while with mine. Water Badger 26
swavorski every time I can shoot before some of my friends (30min) when we get out early morning lovley bit of kit Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
Shooting during the day you won't need the 56 - the 50 will be fine. I used to shoot the mountains for Chamois, and other long range stuff and shooting foxes at night without a lamp - Swarovski 6x42 was all I used. Quote Link to post
