Irish Lurcher 1,013
How did ye end up with the dogs ye have now. Did you acquire the dog you wanted or were you gifted them by chance? Edited January 5, 2012 by Irish Lurcher
shotgunny 39
Picked up my little terrier before about a year before I took up hunting , she was a hyper little thing til I decided to bring her hunting . Within the space of 6 months I had trained her to stay , sit , come here , everything basic and she pretty just went from strenght to strenght . She is a great little shooting dog and will flush very well . I never tried her on fox although she tried to go to ground on us before but I'm not into digging so I never really encouraged it. scothunter 12,609
dont think there many who would accept a dog as a gift. i would think they would know exactly the type of dog they wanted and the breeding for what they wanted it for.
Attack Fell Terrier 864
Good dogs will (a lot of the time) be gifted to good people who will do right by the dog.

Well I am one who has accepted a dog as a gift and turned out to be a real cracker, and I gifted a lad a dog some time ago and he is over the moon with it, and young Danny off here also took a gift and he is happy with her. I could go on for a while,,lol.. But I also see ur point that you are making.
