t10shp 20
i just fort i would write up my days ferreting but i am a newbie so if [NO TEXT TALK] has any tips please write up, any help and constructive critism mush appriciated. I wanted to start ferreting so i had a ratch about and managed to find someone selling working ferrets and a mk3 locator and nets so i bought the mk locator and 20 nets for £100 and then a 1yr old working polecat for £5 (well he said 1 but i thought maybe 1 and a half because of when they come into season) anyways i bought them on saturday and on sunday i just got the ferret sorted in her new hutch and handled and then on monday i went to a few holes that couldnt really be netted but just wanted to see what she was like, on the first 2 holes she went in by about a foot then turned round and came out, next few holes down and out the other side but the holes were empty. today i went to where i keep her, gave her some dry food and left her for about 20 incase she was hungry, then got her and took her to a place i thought mite be good, walked down and saw 2 holes straight away, netted and ferret in but empty so kept walking and found another 4 holes together so as before netted and put her in, next minute a rabbit bolted straight into the next, then about a minute later another ran out and ran into the first hole i entered, so i ran back and netted it straight away then went back for my jill, got her and put her in the hole where the rabbit bolted, a few minutes later a rabbit bolted straight into the net again, but then i called it a day because in my eyes the ferret hadnt been worked for several month according to her old owner so i didnt want to sicken her and also i just wanted fresh food for her, so i went back and put her in her bed after some praise and gave her the rabbit to feed on. this is my first ferret and first time ferreting and i love it lol, thanks for reading, t10 3 Quote Link to post
