jasper65 6
Anyone else noticed a ft/lbs power drop on their Pre charged guns in cold weather? havn't done much with mine for a good few months but got the Ranger out the other day and noticed a POI change to when the gun was put away, I then stuck it over the chrono over a average 5 shots with a return on 10.994 FT/LBS = 755.2FPS useing Field Target Trophies .177 8.64 Grains. I have noticed in the warmer summer months it averages around 11.5ft/lbs . Can't say I have noticed such a drop with the springers? Hope you all have a good 2012 anyway men Jasp Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Hi Jasper cant say I have noticed any drop in mine lately. that's what happens when you buy a Gaystate HAPPY NEW YEAR!! hope its OK buddy Davy Nice one mate . its been sprayed over pink now to match the pink Hawking gear I topped it up a while before putting it away so the same air has been in the gun a few months, it doesn't seem to have leaked as its virtually on the same mark on the Gauge. the other thing I find a bit confuseing Davy is when the power drops it shoots all over the place and needs setting up again? Must say it was nice getting it out again and having a few pops, I need to get it right to clear out a few squirrels and pigeons for the birds, the Pigeons and now flocking in the woods around here ... atb Jasp Quote Link to post
Phil8282 8
Power fluctuations due to the colder weather are not uncommon, your lucky to have lost only .5 of a ft/lb really. Co2 guns often drop 2-3 ft/lbs because the Co2 is more succeptable to temperature fluctuation. This power flux can often cause problems when someone sets their guns power in the garden shed or garage in Winter. Setting at 11.5 in a 5 deg. garage then shooting at 23 deg. in high summer will more than likley put you over the legal limit. Davy the only reason you haven't noticed any drop is because you can't hit what your aiming at anyway! Happy new year to you all. Phil Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
Can't say as I've ever had a poi change with my pcp or springers I've had. My Co2 ratcatcher does seem to punch harder in the summer months though. Hunted below freezing with the HW100 and not had a problem. At least with yours you can tune it out though. Cheers D. Its a strange one D. The gun went into the cabinet bang on zero, I pulled it out for a flutter yesterday and it was shooing a couple of inches low and off to the right. I put a fair few pellets through it incase it was me but it was consistantly dropping them in the same place. I noticed this before in the cold winter months.. I'm totaly brain dead why it effects my POI so badly? cheers, Jasp Quote Link to post
