Thanks Darbo. Here are some pictures of Fly I found.

They are whippet bedlington, both sides. I looked long and hard for suitable sire and travelled 200 miles when she was in season to do the deed. There is a bit of collie (1/4) in the maternal grandfat

Not been able to get out much recently. This is why!   Finally found a dog I was happy to put her to. Taken me 2 years of searching and eventually a 200mile trip to get her mated. The results were

like look of dogs and pups what rifle in first photo what were you hunting on that day

Jasrae,

we were calling squirrels, it was only a couple of months ago, when we had that first warm spell and the squirrels were out in numbers. I wanted some more tails for my fly tying! Sat, calling which is why she is sat beside me as spotter - she can see and hear them long before I can, but she also knows when we are shooting them from a sit, or hide, not to go running in. Out walking, that is a different matter. She knows the difference between the shotgun and rifle too. Stalking on the hill, or in the woods she will stay within a couple of paces, just so she doesn't get trodden on, but doesn't go ranging off. Sniffs the wind and "points" by pricking her ears and growing an inch if she winds, sees or hears something ahead. Out for a walk with no gun, off the lead always, she is gone. She knows the different behaviour required for the different types of hunting we do...catches ducks when we go fishing. Used to catch partridges when she was younger. Ran them down as they flew off and jumped up to catch one. Great to watch. The pups are already jumping over the sofa. Bouncy or what!

Ooops sorry, forgot. The rifle is a Theoben Taunus 20 cal, in a Fenman Heydua stock because I wanted the ambidextrous stock rather than the thumbhole (you can shoot off either shoulder with an ambi, not with a thumbhole very easily.) Built October 1986.

I'm the recipient of that cracking little bitch here and she is an amazing little girl; 6 weeks old, more or less house trained (2 accidents - my bad) and fast as the wind already. I can't wait to take her out for her first taste of the life come Springtime.

She has the instinct in her. My 3 & 1/2 year old daughter has a new pal and a new game: running from one end of the house to the back garden and back again, trailing an old fox tail behind her on a length of leather. Man, you should see the pup tearing after it, catching it and giving it a good old break-shake. She needs to get the back legs in order still as they overtake the front half the time

Dunno if Acuspell has any pups left (2 were left on Thursday) but if you're in the market then I'd snap one up before they're all gone, especially that superbly marked dog (his markings are immense!). Healthy, lively pups from a very well looked after and placid dam. Only placid when she needs to be though from all accounts :D

good luck with her egg sounds like good breeding in the pups atb

She's a live-wire and no mistake mate; however you can see the lie of the land already - when she's not tearing about the place she's up on the couch loafing it beside my daughter (I think there's a partnership forming :D) or lying on the back of the sofa behind my wife's head, loafing it yet again.

So, I have a champion loafer in the making :toast:

Here is a video clip of the pups that are left playing. We are keeping 2 back for ourselves, because my lad wants one for himself - the start of his life with lurchers. No idea how to use U-tube, so they are off photo bucket. I hope it works - if not, could a mod help me out please? !

Oh, that dates you! Thanks for the compliment.

Yes. I did the coursing stuff in the original SHOOTING NEWS as well, and a weekly column on rifles and rifle shooting under the pen name CENTREFIRE. I also did the hunting and coursing stuff for The Field, Countryweek (which then became "Countryweek Hunting" and finally just "Hunting") and a load of stuff for The Shooting Times, Shooting Gazette, Sporting Gun and a load of overseas magazines in Germany, Italy, France, Norway, Sweden and the USA. I am still doing some.

Still one of these chaps left - after three people have had me put him back for them, but then failed to follow it up.
