Four Seasons in a Day

Recommended Posts

Monday found me scratting around on high ground. I arrived at my "spot" at 8am to heavy hail stone shower. The first hour or so Cass my little bitch was in real overdrive, casting about working like a real mad dog. :icon_eek: Until there is a couple in the bag then she settles down to her job like a good un. My sport was few and far between. Rabbs were lying up in dry spots due to the amount of heavy rain of late. they were mainly on their own which makes for a slow day numbers wise. The second bolt of the day the rabbit made good it's escape - just! By using the rocks Cass lunged down to pick it, but she hit the lime stone sqaure in the gob. Only a bust nose and a slight cut to the top her lip thank god. I thought the worst. She picked herself up and followed on marking it to ground. I don't usually persecute a bunny if one gets away - fairplay. I hope to run it's offspring but this one went in the bag on the second attempt. My two gills worked well bolting me around 20. I managed to put 10 in the bag with C

cass nailing 4. After 5 hours of wind, rain, sleet and hail we made it back to the van. It would have been nice to drop the catch off, have a quick brew and carry on, but time is always ticking.
