whin 463
dave told me when you came down to bred them , your going the [bANNED TEXT] way putting buddie to them or simliar , and still keeping a bit weight on them for that rough ground , you would get the same type of dogs with these good german shepherd crosses my mate had back in early ninties saw them run several times , good dogs were rooney musket Quote Link to post

whin 463
no prob ive bred half crosses from big rangy colies some made the grade but over half couldnt turn a good hare if they had agood start mate , some of the diogs you brd will be pacier my old mate m c glennbred beardies danny could turn ahare and cath roe pre ban , so i dont disbelief some are not fast but the half cross is onlt the start as youlle no hence buddie through then mate , if they were real good you would bree them to another type like colie grey or malemute grey mate , but instead youve fined them down and got dogs in them with natural running stile, good on you Quote Link to post
whin 463
as ive said i have saw pacy half crosses i gave my brother inlaw one my mate from suffolk had a 26 inch half cross could catch ahare roe fallo any thing , but the amount ivesaw that couldnt catch hare fast roe have out weighed the good ones mate , Quote Link to post

bunnys 1,236
may i say if i understand you correctly ,the buddie malamute breeding ,was to improve on the coursing ability of the buddy line . OR did i miss understand you and you meant improving the running ability of the malamute lurcher . because let get this right here i can assure you there his lots of lines out hthere for the coursing line can go back to . Ithink ther e his some misunderstanding here corect me if iam wrong please.thank you alb bunnys. Quote Link to post
whin 463
i think there on something if they bred a malemute cross to improve buddies line for coursing , i have coursin types my self and a malemute cross wouldnt make them better hare dogs , it was like the collie crosses years ago they bred the deerhound cross in them to size up the collie type , for hares bigger running land etc , and keep abit of the collie in them for other qaulities Quote Link to post
whin 463
so there half greyhound d slieght then to buddie there gettinmg further and further from what you started with , i saw the pup youse had in the picture nice pup lying stetched out a typical looking good bred saluki lurcher , there getting less and less malemute Quote Link to post
