got to the top of some feilds and we all stood there in amazment (spelling) there was a rabbit sitting 20yards from a few holes , so we all started off towards it and in it poped ;)

netted up 10 or so mins later out in the net job done :)

by this time it was getting on for 2-3oclock we had feck all to eat since last night and my mate says come on we will get a fire going and eat this rabbit :icon_eek: ,well it took about 45mins to get the fire going and all of ower socks

anyway skined and gutted the bunny and got some sticks, put one through the rabbit and two sticks each side of the fire and sat there and waited and waited, after what felt like forever i had a taste it was the best feckin rabbit ive ever had il never forget that taste :snack:

in all it took us 3 hours to cook the bugger we could have gone home and come back in that time :laugh::laugh:

dont bother pluckin em ,just make a cut down the skin of the breast bone, and cut out the breasts, saves a lot of time, its the best bit of meat and will be cooked in 5 minutes.you can cook them on a hot flat rock. :)

I remember when i was young on the way home from a days hunting with my dad, we were going up this little boreen when a pheasant ran out in front of the car. Well my dad knocked him down by accident so he decided to hold on to him so we could eat him later. Anyway we put the pheasant in the boot of the car. Got home soon afterwards and my mother needed the car so off she went. She wasn't gone 10 minutes when she came racing home with a scared look on her face. The pheasant wasn't dead and it was hopping around the boot of the car like a mad thing. I'll never forget the look on her face. We did get to eat him in the end and it was the nicest meat i tasted in ages.

That fat, ginger speedo wearing wanker Ray Mears rustles up some good looking grub mind..............

Its just a shame I cant stand the pompus little t**t....................

Its some thing about the over gesticulated way he slowly chews his 'shit butties'.....nodding enthusiastically to his little faggotty old bent friend with the Abraham Lincoln beard.............."oh yes Ray...this is sublime......can I have some more please you RAVIN BOT JOCKEY"....................................

Perhaps its just me................ but I'd love to mercilessly pummel him

I don't eat the things i get when i am out........What i do is bring them home and make a fire in the garden and cook things on that. The one i like most is the one out of FRED J TAYLORS BOOK.

Joint your rabbit and put it in some foil with a knob of butter, mushrooms, salt and pepper, then wrap it all up in the foil tight so the steam can not get out and just chuck it on the embers of your fire for half an hour.I tell you its gorgous, nicly cooked and juicey

No Paul, I haven't seen him, but I don't watch much telly these days anyway, between my Missus and my children they have the bloody thing sewn up.

I've seen Mears a few times, it's alright, I like the way he can make stuff, but I always got the impression that he was an insurance salesman on his day off or something.

I might catch some of the other fellow on youtube or somesuch.
