Used to fish just south of there as a kid,always used to get reddish coloured codling,we used to call them kelp cod because they werent as golden as the ones we got off sunderland or hartlepool

ye its just the iodine of the kelp or die called them red cod , rock cod , you get a fare few in the creels early on in the season had some crackers up to 8 pound , alive and kicking , had a sole this year in creel , had wolfish, conger, wrasse ,pollack ,ling ,good grub if there living , if there dead good bait ,berwick fishes well through summer dunbar the same and north berwick a bit more patchy unless you have a good tide , as you need to cover the land as its sheltred love the fishing creeling just another form of hunting ,brought up 100 yards from shore since a small kid seas got laws to but well its abig place as they say in some areas
