frosty days, ferrets health and water bottles

Lab, sure I'm in the army but I still don't like having cold feet. Who does? I hate having cold and wet feet. Anything else i can work with haha

i have 2 sets of bottles, i change them morning and nite [bANNED TEXT] its cold, and i fill the bed area up to top with hay, but planning on building something better for them before next year so they'll have more space and more cold resistance

I have my ferrets in a shed, they have 3 double hutches 4 foot long joined with tubes and access to a 7'x3' run outside also joined with a tube.

I have a cat litter tray full of water in the run for them to cool off in in the summer, I leave it there during the winter for them to drink out of if they want to and I also have 6 water bottles on the hutches inside the shed.

When the cold weather kicks in I have an old oil filled radiator I put on a very low heat just to keep the frost away from inside the shed, this seems to work although last year a couple of the bottles still froze where the metal ball bit is on the bottles.

If all else fails they can lick the ice in the water tray in the run if they get desperate, but up to mow the oil filled radiator has worked a treat.

Mine have fleece blankets and a hammock. They can choose the blankets to wrap up when they start feeling the chill.

Bottles, I don't wrap, just keep an eye on them and swap when needed.
