Dunkanon 380
You could try feeding him smaller portions more often, sounds like he just likes the choice bits out of his bowl as well, some fussy eaters learn that if they leave what they dont like they will get something better, personally Im of the opinion that if a dog gets hungry enough they will eat anything they given. KittleRox 2,147
Give the ped chum a miss, not enough protien personaly I,ve reared two pups over the last two years, tried a few different ways, dryfood barf etc came to the conclusion Dr johns is what suits mines, mixed with chicken, mackeral, tuna now and again ( high mercury content) leftover veg. Try soaking the dry mix with warm water, the pup will not have to put so much effort into eating it Edited October 30, 2011 by KittleRox

KittleRox 2,147
Make sure the fussy stuffs got enough protien, I imagine that stuff will be expensive as well, you may be spending money you don,t need to, try the Dr johns mate, I,ve three dogs here and they all eat it nae probs and they were fussy with the few other brands I have tried
skycat 6,174
That pup is eating all it needs: it is not thin, and it won't hurt it to go without a meal if it is being fussy. The more you fuss over them, keep offering them different sorts of food, the more picky they get. He's pulling your strings with being picky. Don't faff about getting fussy eater special food: chances are it is full of additives, taste enhancers and all sorts of crap which won't do a young growing pup any good anyway. Some pups eat like wolves one day, and hardly anything the next: some stuff themselves all the time. They are all different. Just make sure you feed him a food that is high enough in protein for a growing pup. Don't feed tins of any sort: they are mostly water. If you don't want to feed raw diet (takes more working out and effort) get a good quality meat based complete food (meat will be the first ingredient listed on the side of the bag). Add a bit of very weak gravy to moisten it, and let him eat what he wants. If he chooses not to eat one day, he'll eat the next. Pups are like kids: give them too many choices and they get fussy!

I wouldn't say he's a chunky pup as I'd like them to be but better then he was. Sometimes dogs go through phases some more then others so might just need time. Skycats best for advice on here she's great with dog maintanence
