FlyMyGirl 147
Well took my 14 month Bull Deerhound x Greyhound out for his first proper night on the lamp last night along with my older dog to watch him have a couple of slips!! Wasn't expecting much from the young dog so when my older dog caught his first slip and spooked a rabbit straight towards I gave the pup a slip and he caught it, well that put a bloody big smile on my face and to top it of there was a couple of laps of honour with the rabbit but then straight back to hand . Any way the pup went on to catch his first 3 slips missed 4 and ended up taking 8 home and pretty much all of them back to hand alive!!!!! I honestly couldnt be happier ran the beam waited at edges for them to re appear like a seasoned pro (didn't really need the older doglol), he did have a little help with some vermin wire on a couple though lol. Ended up finishing the night on a good note with both dogs still wanting to go at them but called it a night after 17 in the bag. All the best everyone for the season FMG Quote Link to post

FlyMyGirl 147
I'm at work cant upload pics, sorry, he is about 28-29 inch though racey but the powers there aswell as my mate found out last night when he was taken clean of his feet (big bloke aswell) his feet where above his head I was pretty shocked by the dog to be honest as I have taken it slow with him as he is still not the maturest but something last night clicked and he wanted those rabbits and he really worked for them, his striking I couldnt fault!! I think I was the happiest girl around lol. Thanks for the comments and your right can't beat watching something u have put time and effort into coming together. ATB 1 Quote Link to post

FlyMyGirl 147
I've got the sister to your dog an she nails anything in the lamp she's come on brilliant , still hasn't had her first season tho ? I've taken it slow with mine knew he wasn't ready and he's a pretty big lad at 29inch and not to sure on his weight but he can knock me about if he tries lol so its taken him a while to find his feet and control his speed and strength and still he doesn't understand that slowing down is a good thing, me mate I was lamping with found that out when he was taken of his feet with his boots ending up higher then his head and he aint no small bloke!! I took him out again the other night so his second night out and he got another 7 so things are looking good, although rabbits aint really going to be his thing I'm glad he can run them ok as well. He's taking longer to mature than my other dogs have but I'm not in a rush and I am willing to put the time in so he will get there one day. My old bitch never had a season untill she was coming up 2 year old I may be wrong but think all bitches differ. What have you had your bitch on pm me if prefered? ATB Quote Link to post
