rob190364 2,594
should,nt be messing about with species breeding are you working a wolf then? last time I checked lurchers wouldn't have occurred without humans messing about with species! Wolves were domesticated for a reason and the reason was as companions and to do jobs people couldn't were as crossing tigers and lions doesn't have a purpose there is no need for it just creates unhealthy animals that have no real purpose to humans Just my opinion though yeah I know what you're saying....the debate could go on forever though I suppose....it's like saying we shouldn't mess with nature, unless it suits us! which I suppose is exactly what happens. Personally, I don't really see a big issue with it in this case, they'd be crossing cats in captivity any way, and this is just a variation. As malt said, if they lived in the same habitat it would probably occur naturally anyway. I don't think they're unhealthy are they? I thought it just said if it was wild it wouldn't be able to catch enough meat to sustain itself due to its size? lol it could go on forever I understand what your saying if they were in the same habitat than they would breed and the offspring would struggle to catch food and survive as said because of it's size ect but I suppose it doesn't affect us really but I would like to see ligers in the wild to see how they hunt as they would have to adapt and change their style to suit there abillities it would be interesting to see though as long as they weren't in the same country as me!! ha lol damn right This just shows the size it's fecking huge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD6vpheUoPE&feature=youtube_gdata_player 900lbs!!!! moonlighter 1,165
The reason there so big is because they used a female tiger and a male lion. Both of these are the larger sex in both breeds. If they bred them the other way round they would be small and compact.
