Hi mate,

If your rifle is in .22 calibre stay at 25 metres.

If its a .177 calibre rifle use 30 metres.

When zeroing use the highest mag you can without wobbling all over then turn down to between 4 and 10 for normal shooting depending on how steady you are in the aim.

This may be a daft question but i was told when i was researching the scope i now use that if you zero on a different magnification to what you shot at then the zero will be different when you change the magnification later on. Also the same with the mildots ect.

Is this true to any extent?

Do you know what power your gun makes in ft lb? Do you know the weight of the pellets you are using? If so download Chairgun or BRC from Hawke, find out what the markings indicate! On my scope at x11 magnification I have 5 metre steps from 30-60m! Makes life easier!
