Jamie m 668
Was out solo yesterday on new ground not massive but as usual for the area the burrys are, and yes jai every burrow is lined with gold , I had a quick nosey picked out a 3 or 4 holer beneath a large oak surrounded on one side by nettles on there last legs , as I was looking a rabbit Exeted and made for a bank I hadn't looked at yet but I knew it would be to large for one man and 3 ferrets and beside I only had 40 nets , anyhow long net round as was early and couldn't be bothered with the purse nets cup of t then ferret in , oh the reason I picked this one first was there was to very very pain in the arse horses in the next field : ( , a little wait bunny number one of the day exits and sits in the nettles I tried to shoo it to the net but it went back down the hole, so I got ferret number two out the silver shredder not long before she's doing her bit she's a good sized Jill , out pops the rabbit again and yep sits in the nettles how I wish I'd had the dog but first day on new ground just wanted to see the lie of the land the rabbit eventually after going to ground once more and being removed once again buly the silver shredder slipped the long net and made to the next warren where the horses were : ( , so I heade there a fereters dream large open field bury with lots of traffic coming in and out , long nets round horses on stand by to do my head in once the ferrets are enterd and the action starts grrrrr, put all three jills in , Florence, pixie , and cheza, aka Cheryl cole she is a bitch , rabbits start to bolt two in the long net at the sane time which was a bit of a sprint as I was trying to evict two bloody horses , whilst I was dealing with them the horses were sniffing round my prize ferrets and trying to destroy them this was really ruining my morning one more bolts then bounces off the net and bolts below, I'm still trying to get rid of a horse and the other bloody horse is now trapped in the bloody long net I'm now not very relaxed or enjoying what should be a bunny bolting extravaganza , one more breaks for the safety of the oak tree and narrowly misses the out strechted long net how I was willing it to go in , at that moment one hits the net at speed and the bagging wasnt set right and it sumersalted over the net and to freedom , whilst im still moving the feckin horses another bolts and is entangled in the net which is gladly dispatched , theres a bit of hole hopping going on through out , and another slips under the net at some speed dog please you hear me say , horses have thankfully now disappeared , I'm calm again another bolt and just as I get to the net it untangles itself dog please , had I had dived at the flipping thing or been some ten years younger it would of been in the bag , anyhow it went below and was apprehended in a stop end by florence , spade out ferret out some 4 foot deeper and that was that , nets up cup of t , during the show I was being watched the whole time and then this bloke appears acrross the field to which I bid a good morning he then flys into rage to which I say calm down I have permission , to which I get no you haven't blah blah blah he then says I'm the only one with permission round here blah blah what's your name blah blah to which I reply I'm not giving you my name as I have permission he's still ranting as he goes to the stable to speak to the girl who organised my permission I was a little off put with my ferreting by this encounter but after a little while he left with the matter all sorted , turns out he has shooting permission shotgun but now theres horses on the land well the rabbits are all mine , anyhows I did a massive bank with the longnet but it wasnt happening just hole hop after hole hop in the nettles , a job for the crew two massive banks filled with gold for the winter months stopped at a garden on the way home to show face and have a look plenty of sand kicked out of the sets but not all the holes in use but a couple of good days out threw the winter all in all an ok day but to much for one man good to be out though http://emob946.photobucket.com/albums/ad306/jamiem1/photo-105.jpg http://emob946.photobucket.com/albums/ad306/jamiem1/photo-106.jpg http://emob946.photobucket.com/albums/ad306/jamiem1/photo-107.jpg Edited October 17, 2011 by Jamie m Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
Nicely done, horses can be an utter minge when they want to be. Had one saturday snorting down the hole at the ferret and then flid out and try and stamp on her before shooting off in a panic! Not only that but they were bullying Blackstaffs lad, miserable sods!
