checking earths to day ??????

Recommended Posts

Ive done it in the past to see if ''Mr reynard'' has been using the earth !

Why would you do that though mate ??? Honestly, I'm just wondering, no malice intended. Would checking the earth with your terrier not be easier, Or am I missing something ?

if u come back in a week and the sticks are down its a sign that something has passed trough

Alan, Would the terrier not tell you if there's something home ?

aye but if your at it long enough.. and trust your dog youll know if there is something about even before you get to the hole.... the way he comes acoss the field and sure on the way to your holes you keep an eye open for paths... shite... hair on wire .... all different things plus you should know the way your dog is going on as you approach the hole surely.... a lot easier than coming to check if sticks are moved......lol :hmm:

Yeah mate I agree. usually when were out trying a few places we would collar a dog up and let it run along side us on the way down to a spot. On most occasions (if there's anyone at home) the terrier begins his/her hunt then.....with nose to ground well before the burrow, and then entering naturally. Rather than being walked on a lead and so on and so forth! That's why I still don't get it and thought I was missing something.

Mark entrances with sticks and if you go back and sticks are moved. there has been activity?

Why not,

Drop a dog.

Deal or no deal !
