nat 8
A few weeks ago I got offered a lurcher for free, a 15yr old lad had been doing some shooting and decided to get a dog and do some rabbiting with it. Anyway the lad got this nice dog got saluki ghreyhound and collie in it's make up not sure what else as a pup, it was a good looking pup etc. but the lad couldn't be bovered to train it retrive jump experience etc. So his dads been training it to sit lay down stay and walk quielty on a lead. But that's it the dog will be about 2 yrs now and it's a picture. If I wasn't going away I might of give it a go just to see if it could work. So my question is do you think a dog that's had no direct training for the field at this age could be a worker.... Forgot to mention both parents were workers, personally I think it could ?? nat 8
Mikeball I would but I'm going away for 10 weeks n leaving dogs at home so it's just another 1 fr my dad to look after so not worth it. Yeah I guess it's just instinct fr a dog to chase then it's built for it so eventually it would get it's kill. Cheers fr replies I was just curious Quote Link to post
