Ratreeper 441
I need a shovel for ferreting so hopefully nothing too hardcore. I am thinking of getting something like this off ebay, as it look pretty good to me. Should be built to last, it's a bit short but like I said it's just for ferreting anyway. Any opinions/suggestions would be helpful. The price inc p+p is £19 which is about as much as I would want to spend
Ratreeper 441
I know this isn't the most interesting topic, but 39 of you have still had a look and no-one has said it's good or bad..
Neal 1,930
It must be fairly sturdy to have lasted this long, unless it's not seen much use. However, as you said in your first post, "it's a bit short." You may find you'd be grateful of the extra shaft length (no smutty giggling from the back row please) when you actually get round to using it. As they say: buy cheap, buy twice. I have a bulldog rabbiting spade which is great for cutting through roots etc.
secretagentmole 1,701
Don't worry Reeper, they just dig the topic.... I will get me coat!
unlacedgecko 1,467
I cant find anything in the avdert that mentions the price. I have an old ex Army shovel which looks very similar. On closer inspection, it is made by Bulldog, or at least that is the name stamped in the steel section of the shaft. It is definitely the thing to take when digging. Sharp enough to cut through tree roots, but strong enough to dig through clay. I would get it if I was you...
Simoman 110
The selection of bulldog shovels are all you will ever need...........
