Guest dee mac
back too topic kennelling same sex dogs together is a no no when dealing with terriers and to say bitches more relaxed not in my opinion there even more spitefully than dogs when they take a grudge .just too add i only have noticed this in kennells once out in the fields when its work time they never bat an eye at each other 3 Quote Link to post
hack 301
personally i never kennel two terriers together just isnt worth the risk imo the slightest thing can have them kicking off i only ever keep pups together from the same litter until they are about 10 month of age atb Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
I would'nt take the risk with terrier's,most terrier's if left to fight will go to the bitter end, they are used to killing and the better ones always gain a choke hold, after that its curtains for the other terrier and patts are a very strong dog bred for hard work, while one backs down to the other's dominance there won't be a problem but as a terrier matures its just a ticking timebomb,I would say separate kennels, atb,WM 1 Quote Link to post
*ferrifleboy 19
Thanks for all replies, the idea of housing two bitches together one being a terrier is looking like a no no due to the gameness of the terrier I fear that the whipx being submissive may not be enough for the terrier to back down and just isn't worth the risk.. Thanks for all advice as it's prob saved me alot of possible future problems and given me alo to think about. Fantastic site this! Great members too! Quote Link to post
antsa 40
never had big problem with dogs together only bitches, not much but just my point of view Quote Link to post
*ferrifleboy 19
Right the mrs is driving me mad wanted another do (a terrier).. As the dogs are in the house kennellimg splitting etc isn't an option I'm not for the idea of housing two bitches but what are thoughts on a male jack russel with my whipx bitch? One spayed the other chopped? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
There's alot of sense in the old maxim; Kennel three, bury one. Quote Link to post
