buzzards ,in town and citys

don,t if this is the right section of the falconerny section 2 start this but here goes ,feel free 2 move it mods ,i know buzzards are realy common in this country but not were i live [sunderland] noramly have 2 travel 3o miles in the northerndales 2 start seeing numbers ,theirs been sightsing at outside durham which is 15 mile from sunderland ,last year i seen 2 soaring around about in open farm land about 7 miles from any built up areas out skirts of sunderland ,now yesterday i was at a friend house who fly farmers [highfliers] well anyway he says he thinks 1 of he birds had went missing i he thinks it down 2 the hawks ie sparrow or peringe anyway i,m looking about the skys for this lost pigoen anyway as i was looking a see very large bird of prey in the distance this was a bit strange 2 me as their only ever kestrel and sparrowhawks and the odd perigrine so i,m looking and looking and came above about 3 houses high and could,nt believe my eyes it was buzzard i was amazed i love watch these birds souring about in the dales a calling to 1 another it might sound daft 2 some people but were i,m from they are rare bird of prey ,has anybody had a simplier sightings of birds coming into towns and city and is this be coming a general sight i hope it is cause i love watching this type of bird.

i live in merseyside and ther most i have seen on one thermal is 11 birds going from about 200ft upto about 800ft.commons are moving more and more into towns same as the other birds u have spoken about .as long as there is carrean for them and worms ect you will get them ,just look how pere's have adapted to town life and are breeding fine so no reason for commons to do the same

i saw a goshawk last week in kirkby :p very high up XD the first wild one i've ever seen.

also, have you noticed there is a lot of wild spar's in liverpool this year?

I see loads every day as we are near laods of FC land. Saw one this morning sat on a lamp post at the entrance to the hospital.

yea buzzards are supposed to be the most common brid of prey here in britain and we have a good few around here where i live (north of ripon), see plenty when i'm at one particular farm house and can hear them in the woods
