Guest dances
Sorry to bring these up again. My break stick has seen abit now, about 3 or so seasons and is starting to go at the end and has changed colour aswell :/ Now my question is, as an engineer I work with a lot of metal on a day to day basis and could I fashion one from metal? What are the credentials of a break stick in regards to hardness, brittleness, density, flexibilty, weight etc. Quote Link to post
Casso 1,264
timber is alot more natural and softer to be sticking into your dogs mouth bud,, 1 Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,902
the teeth will be damages from metal I would expect. Why not produce another from either hickory or hardend plastic.Better idea make a few and when one wears out dump and start again. Quote Link to post
Strong Stuff 2,171
Hello my new friend ............ Have you access to tufnol or nylon? Like plastic chopping board type material, that makes decent break sticks. If it were me, I'd want them to look as least like a weapon as possible, especially if I was carrying them anywhere near a public place, it's not what they actually are that counts, it is what people think they are. Westy76 546
Metal would be aggro on 2 fronts,no good for dogs mouth and if you got lifted by the law it's a cosh regardless what you explain to them. As strong stuff says nylon is the way to go mate if you've got it knock a few up and flog em,I'll buy a couple of you. Quote Link to post

Guest Josy
I would not even contemplate making a metal one let alone putting one in my dogs mouth, thought that much might of been common sense but there seems to be a short supply of it on this website. 1 Quote Link to post
