digging,,the ground?

hi all the lads who as been out and got a bit of earth work how did you find the ground to dig is it like iron as it dry as bone around this way,, how did you find your terrier performing at work with the heat .. did you notice a difference in its working style cheers all

i would`nt put a terrier to ground when its this hot no matter what or who was askin .. hard grounds about the norm this time of year ... roll on october

it will take a good bit of rain to soften it up had ago at doing a false earth but ground like bell iron

tis hard mate a was lucky mine was pretty shallow but got there in the end lol wait for some good rains shunt be far away

Read something a fair while ago about dry dusty earths and lack of air and being potential death traps for terriers but can't really remember much more about the article, maybe someone could elaborate more

ground like iron at the moment , really tough going,, terrier performed really well considering the heat

Weve had a few digs to date and the ground is hard and dry.We had 1 tester a couple of weeks back and i was glad when we finially broke through to the dog.We try to get out good and early to avoid the heat.We are just geting young dogs goin at the moment,so its handy digs if possible.

at least youve had a few mate was they deep,, i checked a few last week when it rained no luck dont seem many about this year, roll on winter,, or a good few days rain and il be out checking
