bill 5
due to the state of our sport the public perception of hunting with dogs the media interest and sites, such as this, which are open to all and sundry ,where people post pictures that are'nt really suitable since the ban and everyone just putting pre- ban after everything. Does anyone think the police will push for a law to be passed that will treat us all like common criminals and have us arrested and prosecuted for going equipped in pursuit of game; contrary to the welfare of animals act 2006..ie out at night or day with a lurcher or lurchers, with no written permission; miles from home without a good reason, just lik,e a burglar with a bag and crow bar..and saying im walking my dogs or im only after rabbits, just wont wash anymore...Automatically leading to arrest loss of dogs and vehicle, fine and possibly a ban on keeping dogs Quote Link to post
robert michem 314
good brief, wud get that kicked out, a lurcher in a car dose not put you in the crime of poaching, Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Not that long ago i could walk down the road with a Hare and a lurcher behind me, if any local saw my dog on a Hare they thought nothing of it, not any more, years ago i could see the change when travelling to do legitimate terrier work as soon as we got the dogs out and had a shovel in our hands, someone would phone badger baiter's. so i stopped, now concentrate on rabbits only, it is no big deal for me, as I have always mainly been a rabbiting man, but will they be next? but who knows what the future hold, I think snares will be next to receive a ban Quote Link to post

Bootsha 1,306
myself and many others have always said we do our selves more harm than any amount of antis can I totally agree Bill, there is little or no need for the anti's or authorities to delve deep into the minds of the working dog man, too much honesty on sites, too many anti's ant the likes monitoring them. They have only to plant a seed, or gently ease in a wedge in the hunting community, and wait, its like lighting the blue touch paper and retiring to a safe distance, we'll do enough damage to ourselves by bickering and falling out internally, they just come along and mop up the information ready to use aginst us. We are our own worst enemy's my friends, of that there is no doubt whatsoever, just my humble opinion. B Quote Link to post
