seen a dog that was broke to ferrets pick one up completely out of the blue on first day of the season a couple of years back. dog got a bollocking and a shake of the collar. dog went on lead for next 1/2 hour and every time the ferrets showed "NO" was growled at the dog. dog was let off lead and closely watched for rest of day and never showed any sign of interest to ferrets. my thoughts on this situation was that the potential problem was nipped in the bud and dealt with there and then.
