If you liked what you have read and want to know how this and many other excursions have unfolded then the book will be out very soon. The first dog is released into the distance, shortly followed by the second whilst the third remained with me. A quick trot, then a sniff on the ground, then another shuffle, a quick look up, ears pinned back they powered it on towards their findings. Up to 100yrds I could see the dogs running almost neck and neck, all I could do now is wait for that distinctive sound. I do not want to be hearing a dog in trouble, but this is how we work, how they work, it’s what they know. I see one, two then a third run pass me at approximately 60yrds on the sky line, the third dog pulling with all his might, but two are needed for the job, and I couldn’t take no risks, and more importantly two were only needed tonight. I hear the sound I was hoping for, be patient and wait I tell myself. Eventually the first dog arrives back to me, I could see we hit the jackpot, I praise the dog and make tracks.
