wooly coated saluki's

i seen a guy today with a wooly coated saluki x type pup, i asked him what was in it, he said full saluki, i was like ? full salukis have smooth coats, why has yours got a wooly coat? he said its out of benji and i said well benji wasnt a full saluki was he, and the guy insisted it was a full saluki, so i left him to it, does anybody have any advice? i thought the wooly saluki coat came from wheaton, bedlington, or deerhound?

benjie wasout of a dog called nipper x full saluki kim but some people say she wasant benjie himself is wooly but some pups he throws are smothe coated like my two go to harry watson gallery album and you see my two dogs out of benjie

benji isnt a saluki so how did he have a pup outta him that was a pure i dont no lol

 

there saluki lurchers because no one really noes the percentage of what ever else is in them

I guess the question is, do saluki's throw the rough coat or was it introduced by an addition to the line, which was supposed to be bedlington.

benji etc were all Saluki greys, so was there a rough coated saluki in the parentage.

looking at some of the saluki types around the world there are some with rough coats.

yet to see a pure bred running dog with a wooly coat . i have saw moutain type saluks with thick collie type coat but never wooly, wooly doest lend its self for a good jacket at times ,hides cuts can get matted ,it doesnt stop it running but had beardie type and early doors sep yoused to over heat at times ,most saluks featherd smooth and thick coat like tazis etc

Benki isn't a saluki grey richie 10 he is a saluki lurcher. Lurcher part being the bedlington the deerhound whippet grey and what ever else is in the mix he is far off a saluki grey.

Yes, that's my point. There must be a bit of something else in them to make them have a thick coat, just like being brindle. The breed is not know for these traits and it is a sign of mixed blood.

Personally I wouldn't care if I had a Saluki with these traits if it could do the job unless someone tried to tell me porkies and take me for a fool. Pure or not I would still pay the same for it.
