NEWKID 29,103
I've got a 3/4 whip 1/4 beddy, 13 mnths now and is coming on well, very quick off the mark and an ideal rabbiting dog, has done well on the lamp and with the ferrets, I've kept her ticking over during the summer to build her confidence and get her ready but from sept she'll get 2 to 3 nights a week lamping and a day on the weekend with the ferrets. My brothers got a first x around 9 mnths old heavier built than mine and not so quick, loves going into cover ( mines not so keen) and has a much more assertive nature ( she's a mental pup). Hasn't done a lot of work yet so time will tell. Personally I would go for the extra bit of running dog ( 3/4 1/4) for rabbits quicker off the mark and can turn on a six pence. For a small rabbiting partner I think they're ideal. Few photos of her at around 8 mnths Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
I've ran both in the past and the second cross, the 3/4 whippet is a bit quicker than the first, and they can do more than just rabbits, atb with finding a decent one, wirralman Quote Link to post
