hi all, i have an absolutely brilliant piece of art, stuffed foxes mask, mounted up on a plack, with tail, and bullet it was despatched with.

this as been passed down from my grandad, to my dad, and now to me, it has been in the family for nearly 15 years now.

Reason for sale is i dont have any were to put it up, as the mrs wont let me. and also i havnt got a lad to pass it down to, my girls wouldnt like this as a present at 21. haha

i dont have paper work for this, but my dad as told me that this mask was done by a very old famous taxederist named by SPICER. although i dont have any proof of this, its jus verbal proof.

i once got speaking to a taxedermist at the midland game fair last year, and i ended up buying 2 barn owls of him. i went to his home to collect them a few days later and took this mask just to show him. and his first words when he seen it was "Fuckinell, thats a SPICER master piece isnt it?" i said "apparently so" was my grandads then my dads, now mine. he said "from my experiance and knowledge, thats a SPICER work" he offered me £400 quid for it, even with out paper work. im in no rush to sell as its been in my shed for years, its still in top condition.

it may not even be a spicer work, but who ever made this is a quality taxidermy and it is still a class bit of work.

IM OPEN TO SENSIBLE OFFERS!!!!!!!

everythings down in price .. i`m getting between £80 - £150 for antique masks spicers work with paper work / labels reachs a bit more peter spicers / spicers and sons whr victorian taxidermists from leamington thr work carrys a round paper label or sometimes a metal disc .. i was told a while back you could tell spicers work from the shape of the shield and that spicer only used oak ..i`ve never felt confident enough to use this as a guide when buying and would`nt buy without the label .. you see spicers masks priced from 240-350 ... without paperwork its pot luck suppose ... try ebay or look up a taxidermy dealer on the net and have a ring round otherwise hang onto it ..
