bird 10,014
was reading the letter page in the CMW, and a letter (Buy in haste, repent in Leisure) had me thinking. If people do come to buy a pup (lurcher, terrier, gundog,) or phone regards a pup, then change there mind, are they really a messer.?? Lets face it the (seller) can tell you anything over the phone, its when you go to view, that really matters. Some people will phone and mess you about yes, but some might be genuine and want to have good think about it before they take it any further.! Lets face it buy any pup, and put all the hard work that goes in with it, not be taken lightly. So are some people really messers after all .?? Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Not to me Ray, i went to look at a litter of terrier pups bred by one of the biggest names in digging in the last 40 years, i walked away without a pup as i was less than impressed with the definate lack of socialising, its my money that would of paid for the pup, reared it and fed it so my decision to say no thanks they aren't for me........ Bosun11 537
No mate, I do not think anyone who has taken the time effort and cost to come and view the pups without taking one are messers. If I went to view and didn't fancy the litter, for whatever reason, I would not purchase, end of!! The messers are the people who make a million calls, want to know the in's and outs of just about everything, over and over, then assure you they are gonna be there and don't bother! Worse still, are the helmets who take a pup with all the best intentions, only to bring it back a few days later with some lame excuse. I have only bred two litters in my life, one was unplanned, when I realised a bitch i'd bought in was already pregnant, and I got messers aplenty with both litters..! Quote Link to post
watchman 256
read that myself ray, think half the trouble is that if you book a viewing the owner automaticaly assumes you "will" be buying, you have made the journey and have the cash in your pocket,a lot of them need to realise this is not always going to be the case if they think your a messer then that shows there own mentality proving it was prob not worth buying from them in the first place, jmo of course Quote Link to post
jf1970 328
the buyer is entitled to walk away empty handed, just the same as the seller is entitled not to sell them a pup if he feels they are not suitable. 3 Quote Link to post
