bird 10,014
he looks a nice pup, and well done for giving him chance in life. Just bond with him, let him know your his mate, and you not going to (boot) him like some wanker as before as you think.! Regards hunting with him take him round to your mates and let him look at the ferrets. When he starts to get used to you+house, try a little trainng only 5-10 min is plenty a day . just do the same as you have done with your other dog with training, the one thing that you will have to get right for any dog more so hunting dog is (recall) be it catching rabbits+bring'n back and just being in control recall is a must, but as its only a pup you can work on it as it getts bit older. regards lamping you got plenty of time yet, when he is older 12 months old, if you still have him then, pm and i will help you Ray 3 Quote Link to post

coney clucky 93
still a long way to go mate just the basics recall retive sit etc start all these things with him get him used to the ferrets etc then out watching at 6 months. take nice and easy wi pup if he nervous like you say spend as much time as possible to get strong bond with it and make great fuss over every little thing it does on your command ie sit stay and retrieve and get rabbit pelt dummy and get it retrieving it rember mate slow but steady progress is the key and if pup is getting bored stop and try again later when he wants to play again when 6 months old take him out with experiance dog to watch it work never be tempted to slip at that age just let him watch for a couple of month mate maybe toss the odd dead bunny for him to retrieve id be tempted to let him have ago at a few easy bunny at eight months old and see how he goes remeber take every step forward slow and steady mate pups are so easy to spoil and once spoilt its hard to change them all the best mate and its good looking pup Quote Link to post

Cannyboy 34
never try and teach him to mark the burys mate as he will just end up false marking every hole to please you, just let him do hes own thing and you will learn to read hes reaction to differant burys if theres anything at home.
