nichard 4
Just bought an SMK 3-9 x 56e scope and am now in a dilemma as to their quality for air rifle shooting. It is unused so I could take it back but wondered if anyone has any good or bad experience with them Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
SMK scopes are not very good quality, despite the blurb about them being used by the Chinese army. Best to go for a Hawke if you are after a low cost scope, made in the same country but to much higher quality control standards... Edited July 5, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
8shot 192
i had one a while back.....and it was ok ....a no frills scope that worked how it should Quote Link to post
Bugs Bunny 5
i had one on my old rifle and couldn't bare the thought of putting it on my new s410k so bought a Hawke scope the difference in quality is relay quite significant. IMO buy good the first time otherwise you will only upgrade Quote Link to post
fireblade_rrw 20
In this case you really do get what you pay for...... Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
I would strongly disagree with the bad comments from my experience with smk scopes. I had the 4x16x50 on my .22 rimmy and thought it was great, the only reason I swapped it for the mamba was to fit a add on night vision to it. I still have one on my fac air rifle and has held it's zero perfectly, the clarity and picture in my opinion is better than my hawke night eye which I have on my centrefire. Look in the scope reviews and I compared both of them in a review earlier this year. Although I did have to send the first one back as I couldn't adjust the cross hair high enough to zero it, the overall finish and feel of them isn't as good quality as the hawke but in my opinion mine have been better in the field than my hawke and half the price.
