I have an almost identical pic of my kits. She I cany post pics with this fekin phone!

Nice dog mate, I was looking at getting a whippet next year. Are they good rabbiting dogs? I'm new to the dog scene, what's the difference between a lurcher and a whippet?

I've never been a big fan of Whippets but I have to say after seeing Jai's dog work I'm slowly coming round to them, having a whip imo is dependant on what sort of ground you work. They can get broke easy and when they get ripped they can peel like a orange due to there skin being so tight, though as a ferreting dog they do very well.

Jai's dog excels on his ground with mostly hedges and fields though when he runs my ground most of the time you tend to shut your eyes :D he's a clever little fella so I'm hoping he'll start thinking a bit more when he's running the rough ground now he's got a bit more experience, however he turns out he's becoming a valuable member of our ferreting team and has formed a wicked working relationship with my old bitch.I'm really looking forward to the coming season and all that it brings.

Cheers Johnny mate, that means a lot coming from you

The One - aye it's a hob mate, if they take after the jill and hob they were bred off. . . . . they certainly will not be small  The dog is only 16 month mate, i'm not surprised you have seen similar, he came from Mike Brown, and a lot of the laguna / sooty sam bred dogs, are a similar look, black, with a small white flash on their chest and bat ears

It's a funny thing, as a pup he was very hard headed and very tough, what i would have called a 'hard' dog. Didn't really want any affection, and wanted to hunt / kill everything and anything he met from 7.5 weeks on.

But now he definatly has a split personality, in the field is IS hard, tough and has real grit, he forgets EVERYTHING else apart from the task of finding and catching game / vermin. He knows thats what we are there for and so thats what he is going to do, hell or high water. Thing is he thinks 'hunting' is what we do every time we leave the house, there is no such thing as 'just a walk'.

In the house however he's a big softy, very affectionate, very loving, loyal and hates being separated from me, even by the toilet door.

He's got his foibles, and sometimes i fecking curse him (or my poor training  ), but on the whole i feel lucky to have him about, he does what i need him to do in the field, and moreover, he makes me happy
