BSA Magazines

Recommended Posts

hi all,

i've got an r-10 mk1 and the mag seems to leave a pellet or two usually 3rd/4th after a full cycle. is this a mk1 problem, pellet issue as i've only used one type, or magazine?

also do ultra multishot magazines fit in r-10?

thanks all

has anyone got any idea of these?

Hi mate,

This has been a common problem with the early R10s. Mine did it, but it rarely seems to happen now. I found that giving the bolt a firmer tug back than usual made the mag index.

The link you show is the new type of self indexing mag. I've not used one, but apparently they're great. The Mk1 R10 will need an alteration to allow them to work though I believe. That's something that I'm hoping to do at some point.

There is a guide on the BSAOG on the stripping/service of the mags which is very good. I use the new (red) mags and you will always cycle a pellet, but i think there is a potential problem. This is down to the fact that there is pressure on the bolt when a pellet is chambered, and in my opinion will cause premature wear on the probe o-ring. The power increase will be caused by the fact that self indexing removes some of the pressure off the hammer
