Hi I'm new to this so don't laugh please :-) this is my first season shooting shotguns I've done beating for a few years but never had anything to do with the birds pre-season. This year a few of us have decided to do our own little walk round on 1 of my permissions, we put the pen up and collected 50 ex-layers on saterday, I've been to feed and water them today and there must be 30 eggs around the place!!! Some randomly scattered and some in little clutches. I just wondered should I collect these to avoid atracting carrion or do I leave them to see if they would hatch? Bear in mind I can only be there a couple of hours every day/2days So don't have time or experience with chicks or poults hence the ex-layers. Thanks in advance ant :-)

yes we have about 6 or 7 cocks and the rest are hens

Leave the hens that are sitting and see what happens. If the nest is in full view cover it with a few off cut branches....
