What's the thing to do for your dog when they muscle strains ? My lurcher strained his back leg running thanks

A lot will depend on what is actually damaged but as riohog says rest is important and if it a minor strain then that will do the trick.

For more serious things a vets advice is always a good idea to lead the treatment and as to how soon you start active recovery, sometime anti inflammatory drugs are useful for a short time.

one of the best out there for strains and/or tears is a product called trainers choice available from greyhound vets and greyhound suppliers it really is the buisness and comes in various sizes this along with rest will cure most tears and strains .
