Getting dogs Done

Recommended Posts

tell them 2 go fcuk themselves thay just want more money out of you :censored: unless medical reason then no

Haha, thanks gaz mate, i want them both 2 stay intact if you get my drift especially the bitch! when i spoke to mum out the vets she was completly okay with the idea of keeping her intact and if i find out away to keep the dogs seperate then he can keep his bollocks aswell!

If you have to you can get the dog injected when the bitch comes in and he wont be interested in her .After a couple of months he will be back to normal.

I guess you're talking about Supralorin: chemical, temporary castration for dogs. It is quite expensive: I was told about £40 a jab, which lasts about 6 months. Yes, it works, but if you're forking out that sort of money twice a year, then castration would be the cheaper option in the long run.

Get the dog castrated unless you are a very experienced dog owner, even then, accidents do happen Just be prepared to put him on practically a starvation diet if you don't want him to put on weight

My vet quoted me 17£ last year and the dog could still be used at a later date if required but every one will do their own thing I spose probably a male thing but I find the thought of haveing nuts off a bit much ,better being on the ball where breeding is concerned as a prevention less permanant. But considering this lads age castration is probably the best not haveing ago at him but I made many mistakes all at a younger age as many of us did.

I'm gonna come down there and bleedin strangle you, how many time are we gonna have this conversation

Dogs do NOT put weight on because of neutering, i've never had one do it yet, got a 14.5 yr old terrier here who was neutered at 6mths of age, and still has the figure of a working dog (albeit with less muscle). A 2-3 yr old terrier x who actually has a 6 pack. I do'nt do anything special except walk them properly, work them and feed them an adequate amount

Some dogs may be prone to weight gain and the op + the fact they have a propensity may make them gain weight. But it is not the norm as far as i am aware.

Even if it did I can't see how a dog needing less food is a bad thing. While my food isn't big I still wouldn't say no to saving a few quid on it.

Problem is that many people have their dogs castrated in an attempt to calm down their dog or change his behaviour. In many of these case the dog is energetic because they never walk it, not because it has balls between its legs. Because they never walk it the dog gains weight after the operation.

Properly looked after exercised dogs tend not to gain weight though.

The only reason to castrate a dog is to stop unwanted litters. If you have behaviour problems then fix them with training. I'm not saying don't castrate dogs but don't expect it to do anything except stop them being able to have doggy sex. If you aren't going to breed him you should look into it. Alternatively you could look into a dog vasectomy. They are expensive, risky and they will still tie but there won't be any pups.

Hi my advice would be to get the dog castrated if don't intend to put it to the bitch, my dog was also very aggressive to other dogs and howled the house down when bitches near by were in season, we didn't get him castrated until he was 5, big mistake, the desire for bitches was gone after 6mths or so, but the aggression had become such a learned habit it stayed with him, if i had my chance again i would of had him done as a pup. So my advice is if he's aggressive get it sorted now or it will never be sorted and is a pain in the arse to say the least!!!!

think i may get the boy done and just be extra carefull when the bitch is in season, the bitch wont be done as i hope to breed her in years to come if she turns out a good dog :), the boy however is a pet who im turning into a worker and wont be bred due to his agressivness etc, so get the male done once and for all and the female in tact, shouldnt be much hassel then!

when he see's other dogs he will often enough growl bark ears and tail up, ive managed to introduce him to some dogs, my girlfriends female labrador and my grandads jack russel terrier puppy, but more often than not he'll want to fight unless propally introduced :icon_redface::thumbdown::wallbash:
