Guest Frank
Took my whippet pup for some company ferreting, nothing hectic, just a few bolts for her. She performed really well, mouthing the bolted rabbits in the nets and even marking a hole, after cottoning on to what it was about. She carried the bunnys around as proud as punch after and retrieved them when i asked her. 1 managed to slip the net, she was on its tail, but after only a 20 odd yd course, it made it into a stone wall, where she tryd to dig it out. Not to worry, a learning curve. She now knows, what her mouth is for. Got 4, gave farmer 1, as he wanted rabbit for his tea and mentioned something about a stir fry and lotsa Guiness. Frank. gaz 284
Another learning curve for yer wee whippet frank, good stuff big fella are you happy with her mouthing the bunnies in the nets ?i tend to learn them to stay off the nets until told to mouth them, can pay dividends when their older and expected to watch for bolters or others hitting the nets when your ocuppied, just my way of doing things Anyhow well done frank as this is good step in the right direction for her in the futre Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Thanks snoopdog. I mesured her last sunday and she was 19 at the shoulder, so she might make 20 or more, we shall see. Im too, very intersted on how she will fare on big ears next year, will be looking farward to that , will keep you posted. I talled her to lay in one of the pics, so she did and is well behaved. She is quick and is everywhere at once, if you know what i mean. Frank. Thanks Steveo. gaz, i know what you mean about them mouthing in the nets, but i did not want to put her off just yet, in time she will learn. She seem to hold them well anyhow, took some time to get them off her. Thanks, Frank. Quote Link to post
